Had the six course tasting menu. Very nice space with cool art - but the lights really have to be dimmed more to make the space feel intimate. The food was a very interesting interpretation of Sicilian tradition - we were in Palermo just one night so it was great to experience different flavours. Highlights include a very tender beef carpaccio with barnacles, squid with zucchini and a saffron / peach desert.
Our main issue with this restaurant was the pace of service - it took twenty minutes from the time we were seated to even just get menus. Nobody asked us what we wanted to drink (an aperitivo would have been lovely) beyond the water type until thirty minutes in - we just ordered a bottle at that point. And then the pacing between dishes was extremely drawn out - we arrived at 8:30 and were out of there at 11:30. I expect service to be a bit more precise in a Michelin star restaurant.
Fantastic cuisine, highly recommended tasting-menu experience. A bit slow service between some of the servings towards the end of the evening.
This was the most disappointing Michelin-star restaurant experience I have ever had, not just in Italy but anywhere, especially as we were here as part of our honeymoon. We had the 6 course tasting menu; 4 of the 6 courses were genuinely awful. It’s like no one has tasted these! The sardines were slimy and tasted a little foul, the spaghetti course was bland and lacking in texture, and the dessert was basically savoury. The amuse-bouche at the beginning was the first red flag, with the overbaked brioche being bone dry and not ‘filled’ as they had told us. In addition, they really try to push an abstract art aesthetic and experience which is not for everyone. That being said, the service was fine and the waiting staff were very nice. All together a very strange and sad experience. Would not recommend.
What can i say, the food was briljant. It class was showing in the subtiele use of tast. Never to much of something. Good balance, and quality ingredients like superb tuna.
A dreadful experience, albeit within aesthetically pleasing walls. Opting for the tasting menu, we were met with visually enticing portions that, disappointingly, lacked any discernible flavour. Even when flavour did make an appearance, it leaned towards repulsive rather than enjoyable. The overuse of inner organs demanded a captivating taste, yet the execution fell flat. Exotic and luxurious ingredients were squandered on a palate that failed to deliver.
The experimental approach, rather than impressing, turned out to be a misadventure. Unanimously, everyone at the table shared the sentiment. To make matters worse, by the end of the night, we all felt queasy. Even the dessert, which should be a delightful finale, presented itself as a tasteless disappointment, resembling nothing more than bland paper.
While the walls exuded beauty, there seemed to be a disconnection in the creative direction of the place. The fusion of modern art and edgy walls clashed with uninspiring music, creating an atmosphere akin to visiting a senior home. The hard lighting only added to the overall discomfort.
In summary, €700 down the drain, and a vow to never return. If this establishment ever held a star, it seems to have sailed away. Having dined in numerous exquisite restaurants and possessing an understanding of both food and design, it's apparent that this concept lacks a cohesive vision. The experience feels disjointed and lost, putting on a grand show without delivering a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.
Exquisite high end restaurant.
The tasting menu was delicious, and we had some lovely local wine.
The service was extra careful with the food allergies, and really attentive overall.
That was a great experience!
I loved our dinner here. Great service provided by a team who has a passion for fine food paired with excellent local wine. Not every dish was perfect, but it is exciting that the chef is pushing to exceed standard expectations and experiment with the best local provisions. We had so much fun trying everything on the tasting menu with paired wines. Truly a fun and memorable evening!
Had a wonderful time there.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is peaceful and relaxing, the service is good, attentive and friendly, a bit slow at times but nothing too critical. We felt like at home what else can you ask for in a restaurant.
We enjoyed the dishes from small local producers, particularly the beef tartare with hazelnut and seafood reduction which was absolutely phenomenal. The dessert with plum coulis was also noteworthy.
A nice selection of local wines that is worth discovering. Good advice from the sommelière.
Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.
